Oshie & the Cup
We knew immediately this was going to be a great day, even before the news broke: National hockey champion TJ Oshie would return to his hometown of Warroad, Minnesota, for a day with the Stanley Cup trophy in 2018. When the good folks of Hockeytown USA hired us to help document the event, the Ad Monkeys office was suddenly abuzz.
Stanley Cup champion TJ Oshie returned to Warroad, Minnesota, during his day with The Cup in 2018 to celebrate with friends, family, and the entire Hockeytown USA community.
Arriving early, the Ad Monkeys camera crew was granted full access, capturing moment after memorable moment as TJ and the Oshie family glided through a beautifully organized day of activity. Highlights included a local ice arena packed with adoring fans, a welcome ceremony (complete with a “TJ’s Journey” video produced by our very own Ad Monkeys editor), a chauffeur driven parade around town, and photo ops at several iconic locations throughout the town.
Here’s something you don’t see every day: Professional hockey superstar TJ Oshie, the Stanley Cup trophy, and a logo designed by Ad Monkeys all in the same photo! Documenting this homecoming celebration was a thrill for our camera crew and a great day for the people of Warroad, Minnesota, — a.k.a. Hockeytown USA.
Our shoot continued with the capturing of several heartfelt goodbyes from close friends and city leaders gathered near the tarmac at the local airport. Cameras rolled until the private jet disappeared into the wild blue yonder, with each of us knowing we would again photograph this hometown hero at the upcoming Warroad Celebrity Golf fundraiser tournament. But that’s another story…
